Did you know that October 31st is National Bug Busting Day in the UK? (Bugs as in head lice…blech!)
I’ve spent many hours dreaming up content ideas. When I hit a creative lull, leveraging content that already exists is a great way to kick start my brain. Recycle or reimagine your own work. Or look for inspiration in other people’s works.
One of my other tricks is browsing lists of awareness events (like said Bug Busting Day above). With a wise range of topics from National Pizza Day to National Aboriginal Day, you’re bound to find something relevant. If you don’t, you always have the option of creating your very own awareness event!
Finding awareness days and events isn’t always easy, especially if I’m looking for lesser-known or offbeat topics. These websites are the best ones I’ve found so far:
- CharityVillage.com
- AwarenessDays.com (limited free access that renews every month)
- UN Observances
If you know of any other handy websites, please share in the comments!
P.S. Have fun with your take on awareness days but please remember to be respectful and kind. Many established events exist to bring awareness to very serious topics.
