The Two Most Important Words

“We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.”

Cynthia Ozick, American short story writer, novelist, and critic

No matter what your occupation or situation, you want to be acknowledged and appreciated for your work. An offer of help, even if you can’t take it or don’t need it, says that you are not alone in the fight. It strengthens and supports your efforts, especially in times of great stress.

Unfortunately, stress can manifest in many ways, the least of which is irritability and frustration. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our individual challenges that we forget to express gratitude for what and who we do have. We might lash out to those close to us without considering our words.

Let’s take a deep breath. Acknowledge the efforts of others in your circle. Say a well-deserved “Thank You” to a friend or colleague today.
